Welcome to the Detroit Pistons Forum!

Thanks for coming over and checking out the new place! The Worldcrossing site has become a nuisance to say the least. It’s been worthwhile to put up with the unstableness of Worldcrossing but for the company to charge us money and not handle their service properly is pretty much the last straw that we have been tolerating for awhile. We all love the style over there but change was inevitable. The majority of amenities that existed in the old forum remain here along with some features that will make our Piston pow-wow an even greater experience. As you can see, the appearances between the two sites are similar but the difference is that there is now speed and stability. We can be a self-sustaining site here and continue to finely tune the forum to the optimum of what we all decide is best.

So by all means, let’s get this party started!!! Lurkers, show yourselves just this once and maybe you'll get used to posting!

Hey Billl

go to this link, then click forgot password. Enter your e-mail and then a default password will be sent to your e-mail. log in with default pw and then change it.

I think your old username Billl would be the case rather than Bill Bertin

Also, only 4 photos per posting. I was trying to put a few more smileys in the Awards thread but could only do 4.

Yeah, I get that too. You have to hit a reply button even when using the quick reply.

Also, I was posting the Blakely article and it wouldn't let me post the article alone in quotes. It said not enough characters in the message. I had to type in a few words to get it posted.

You have to hit quick reply to get the message box at the bottom to work. Quick reply is the little pen and paper icon at the bottom right corner of each message.

I like the appearance, it's reminiscent of the old forum. If at all possible, I'd like for the number of posts per page to be increased to like 50, or 100.

btw guys, I'm still working the kinks out, this isn't the final product but at the least we can post over here.

Everything will be ironed out in the next week or so; like the cosmetic features like the Curry heads (or what we'll chaneg it to) along with fixing the stuff like minimal characters per a post and all that.

Keep posting the stuff that you guys catch so it can be mended

Going to fix both of those. Just gotta deal with it for a little while.

Keep up with other things that may need correction

there are a bunch of features that people will have fun with.. others can keep it simple

posts per page will be changed back to 50 or so posts per page

cash thing is just for fun; i'm still playing around with it - we can decide to keep it around. like betting on games (hard to add in but I might do it) or enabling certain cosmetic features. All in all, i want to only use it for betting (on nba games, lines, etc) and keep it simple but that has proved to be more difficult to do.... so we'll see.

thoughts on getting rid of the tigers, lions and wings forums for now? I think we can just have OT sports threads in the main forum.

GC, when you get a chance, can you add a link that takes you back to the forum after reading a threads final post. Right now you have to scroll back up to get a link to the forum.

the time zone is messed up for the default forum.

you can change that in the user panel

other things to check out; arcade, search (though not many posts to search through yet), user profile has a bunch of stuff like photo album and instant message, etc.

There is a link on most pages at the bottom to go to the Pistons forum, that takes you to the page which shows all the threads.

It's that "Forum Jump" box in the lower right hand corner of the page

What the hell's going on? What happened to the old forum? Was there a discussion about a move date I didn't bother to read? Where's the "new" button? How come my password's different? How come the password reset feature won't send me an e-mail? Nothing works like it's s'posed to and I'm old and cranky and everybody else is acting like nothing happened.

LOL, Sorry Jangul. Yeah, 'Stones mentioned he was upgrading the software and gave instructions. I had some trouble with the password the first time, too.

From now on, I'm "detroitsportsfan." (Actually, that's ok with me 'cause I follow all the major league sports teams from Detroit. Pistons are my favorite though.)

Let me know if you're still have trouble with getting your old user name (if you still want it)

It was necessary to switch over to the new forum software for the long run; as in 2 or 3 or 5 years down the line. So better to get it over with now rather than later. Now that it is done, we'll work out the kinks for everyone and have closure on the transition.

So again, keep up with what you would want changed and it may get done... this ain't a finished product but the timing was right to move; so as everyone is trekking on over, I'll be fine tuning the stuff here and we can enjoy the upcoming draft and crazy offseason that is bound to happen

Pistonsfan, that is still your username. You have to go to forgot password and then the email that you initially registered with will get the default password and you can log in as 'pistonsfan' and change the pw.

Or stay as DPF

sorry for the confusion, I rushed it because it was good timing for me and also for the fact that the Pistons' season ended.
