We'll see. I still find it hard to believe that a guy can say so many of the right things, indicating such a solid understanding of the game and especially the playoffs, and then be as awful as he was. Sure, he was in over his head and with a crap roster, but still... |

Again, though, I just do not care too much about how well and elloquent coaches sound in public. Of course, it helps if they do a better job winning. A big knock on Curry is, e.g., that at the end of the season we had still a legit shot at being above the 500 level and at playing Orlando (the only doable matchup). We were not able to pull it off. | |

Throw on top of that the fact that Laimbeer had total personnel control with the Shock, and was a far bigger name and personality than anybody on his team, that enabled him to be a total dictator. He could be the complete egotistical asshole he's always been because he had all the power. He won't have that in the NBA. He won't be able to bully NBA players.. He'll grate on players and burn out on teams like Doug Collins and Scot Skiles. Except maybe even worse, unless he changes his style up. |

Joe never keeps coaches for longer. So instead of having idiots who don't work out and need to be fired after 2/3 years, I'll take the screamer who gets results for a short period and then burns out/gets turned out. It's Medz' idea, but I am totally up for the Collins hire one we've got the pieces in place. |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | Riley lucked into a job as an interim coach (after 2 years as an assistant) and happened to win an NBA title. Lambs is going to have to interview and convince somebody he can win the job and he won't have Magic, Kareem, et al propping him up.. And it's not about Xs and Os with him, he's better qualified in that area than Del Negro. It's going to be how he handles and deals with players. I mean, HBO ran a Real Sports segment where his players talked about what an asshole he was, how abrasive his personality and coaching style are. LIke Hack said, maybe you can get 2 or 3 years out of him before he wears out his welcome. Can he be the type of guy that sets a team on the right path before he leaves? : 0 For This Post 0 Total | The iran feed is full of whothehellknowswhat, and, meantime, amid the ``end of the MSM?'' bullshit, some reporters for the major papers have done brilliant work. Twitter's useful for the protestors to organize, but not all that helpful to those of us trying to see what's what over that. |
