Everybody you talk to calls you an asshole, so you conclude that they're annoying...

A few observations after watching the game...

It was nice to finally see them close out a game. Believe it or not, they have been in a lot of games this season. My take on it is that usually the opposing team "turns it up a notch" and the Pistons falter because they don't have another notch.

Unfortunately, I think this win was as much about Utah playing poorly (and not being an elite team) as it was about the Pistons playing great.

I like that the Pistons lead the league (or close) in fewest turnovers per game.

Daye (obviously) has to get stronger. He has his hands on a lot of rebounds but often loses them to an opposing player who is stronger than him. I also don't know if he'll ever be a good defender. He rarely is able to stay between his man and the basket, relying on his length to try and get blocks from behind. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He will probably be a player who will have to outscore his man to be effective.

Another thing I see with Daye...he gets into position on the offensive end and when Bynum does not pass him the ball he looks skyward and rolls his eyes and looks upset. he needs to just play. The more he proves to the team that he is a reliable scoring option, the more he will get the ball (except maybe from Bynum who often gets it into his mind that he is playing one on five).

Bynum is a talented guy on offense. When he is in PG mode and distributing the ball he can be a great asset. When he plays 1 on 5 not so much.

I was embarrassed by how bad Greg Monroe looked early on in the season, but he sure has turned it around. He still gets blocked at the basket on occasion but much less often now, and he seems to be playing very hard (and smart) basketball.

I have been pretty disappointed with Summers, so I hope that if he does manage to get more playing time he will show improvement as Greg Monroe did. Summers gets blocked and stripped regularly around the hoop. He must put the ball in vulnerable places on his moves.

Rodney is great when he is hitting short jumpers to supplement his drives. He is not so great when he forces his way into traffic and doesn't even try to see teammates open for outlet passes. I do think he has steadily improved throughout his career in almost every facet of his game.

I personally would like to see the guys who played last night be our regular rotation. Let's move on from the prima donna past. I would venture to guess that the win total would be about the same.

Thanks for the scoop.

I especially like how you noticed that Summers must put the balls in vulnerable places on his moves.
