Thanks for the votes, people...and Stef, I'll be in here more once football season starts. And then even more if the NBA lockout ends and there's actually a basketball season. |

But don't let me put words in his mouth -- I recommend you ask him directly. |

: 0 For This Post 1 Total | In light of the fact that I have received so few ballots, and considering that it's deader than usual around here because of the lockout, I'm going to extend the dates for the ballots. And unless I get a slew of them in the next few days, the show as well. We're nowhere near the number of ballots as last year and A LOT of regulars didn't even submit. |

Also, if I may suggest something (again), maybe we would have a better turnout if we had a two stage process: 1) the nominations (we would have to work out some process about it); b) voting on the nominations (we could even have a poll to do it). | |

: 0 For This Post 1 Total | MOST LIKELY TO BE FOUND POSTING ("The Buddha"): Tough one between Hack and The Mad Dog. I'm going to go with the Hacker, with TMD in a close second. FAVORITE DRIVE-BY POSTER (The "10-Day Contract"): I always like when the Gym Rat appears so she can scold us for mysogeny and for forgetting to emphasize the fundamentals. FORUM GLUE GUY/GIRL ("The Tayshaun"): TMD in a laugher. Seems to like everyone. Shows talent in every thread. No one nearly as strong across the board. FAVORITE NEWCOMER (Must be someone who joined the forum in 2010 or 2011, "The Monroe"): Great rookie season for papalawrence. Sensible, accomplished and Old School. We needed a grizzled greybeard. Well played, sir. BEST NON-PISTONS FAN POSTER ("The T-Dot"): I think that Dyno has this one locked. MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE: I always enjoy a good Hobbs post on hoops. He could weigh in more though. BIGGEST ANTI-HOMER: Jeff performs a vital service here anytime someone starts puffing up how effective our unbalanced roster and rookie coaches are likely to be. Jeff Hause is Truth. BIGGEST HOMER ("The Newman"): Newman. He posted this year, right? He's perennial. MOST LIKEABLE: Stef. I wanted to pick holes in his sincerity but it proved impossible. You are gold in my book, Professor Puff. MOST LIKELY TO ARGUE ANYTHING: Hacker, but with love. MOST LIKELY TO POST UNDER THE INFLUENCE ("The William Bedford"): Hard to know but I'm voting Stef. Groovy. FORUM MVP ("The GC"): The Mad Dog. What a player. FAVORITE/BEST THREAD: Politics has gotten stale. I have to go with any of the "you're our only hope" threads. Those crack me up. FAVORITE/BEST POST: Orwellian's financial diagnosis posts are my favorite in this Age of Irony. The TV thread during Game of Thrones was fun too. FUNNIEST POSTER (The "Comic Sans"): Hause is unrelentingly funny. Like, every time. Of course, he's a pro. Hack wins in the amateur division based on his exquisite use of sarcasm. MOST ELOQUENT: Tough one here, but I will go with Jangul. Each post is devastating. Lou in a close second with his lawyerly analysis punctuated with a subtle snideness. MOST INTELLIGENT: Hack and Lou in a tie. FAVORITE POSTER: I would like to say Jangul because of the quality but he is hurt by the low productivity. Consistently smart and active, the award should go to Hacker. THE THREAD-KILLER ("The Canswer"): Kstat and whoever replies to Kstat. THE BISON DELE (somebody who vanished): Newman. I have mixed feelings about his disappearance. He was a thread killer but did give us something to rant about. FAVORITE DYSFUNCTIONAL COUPLE ("The Hause & Psycho Rob"): Hack and Hause THE MAN-CRUSH ("The Forshing"): DSF and Will Bynum was the best pairing this year. BEST TRASH TALK ("The Sheed"): Give it to Hause and retire the thing already. FAVORITE CLONE ("The FORSHSUX"/Root Beer Float"): Did the Float make a guest appearance this year? Cloning seems a lost art. COMEBACK POSTER OF THE YEAR ("The McGrady"): We seem to lose more posters than we gain. Not sure about this one. Money maybe? THE POSTER WHO DESERVES SOME RECOGNITION, BUT HAS NEVER WON ANYTHING ("The McDyess"): Maestro SOMEBODY THAT NEEDS A LITTLE WORK ON THEIR BASKETBALL IQ ("The Stuckey"): Orwellian. MOST LIKELY TO GET T'ed UP/LOSE IT ("The Rip"): whoDean, although this refers more to persistent irrationality than loudness. POSTER YOU MOST LOOK FORWARD TO READING: Jangul THE POSTER THAT SHOWS THE MOST PROMISE FOR 2012 ("The Brandon Knight"): If papa hangs around, he could take a half-dozen categories next year. POSTER YOU'D MOST LIKE TO WATCH A PISTONS GAME WITH ("The Esther"): Hause, Hack, TMD - Go Blue! Good luck to all the nominees! |

: 0 For This Post 1 Total | I appreciate some of y'all who've posted ballots here and/or e-mailed me with ballots in the last couple of days. I'm gonna play it by ear here and hopefully reschedule this thing when (if) some certainty regarding the season hits. Just looking at JD's thread from last year, we're probably not even at half the number of ballots we had last year -- and at least a handful of the e-mails I've received are from self-described lurkers. |

I like the game summaries too. SOMEBODY THAT NEEDS A LITTLE WORK ON THEIR BASKETBALL IQ ("The Stuckey"): Hack.
