Ben Gordon is one of the best shooters in the league, but he needs to be more selfish. I have watched every game this season so far (and gradually lowered my expectations), and he just makes really dumb plays when he gets tentative. He should shoot the instant he gets the pass.

I have seen him pass up an open shot to pass to Max with the shot clock running out and Max a long way from the hoop with a defender right on him. I've seen him dribble out of bounds, dribble off his foot, pass to the other team, and do a lot of low basketball IQ type plays.

He is a great shooter who is often too reluctant to shoot. I like the guy and he seems like a good teammate, but he needs to play to his skills more and shoot the damn ball.

I don't know if it was homering, but in one of the Chicago games the announcers said he seemed very blase out there. He's never struck me as a particularly emotive player, but I don't know.

BG is a shooter. That is it. If you expect him to do much of anything else, you are going to be disappointed. He can knock down jumpers and he can kinda drive if his man closes out completely out of control. He's a willing passer, but he just isn't very good at it. When you put him out there with a scoring pg, that makes that flaw stand out.

Frank should say "Look, I get the good teammate thing and you not wanting to appear to be a ball hog, but YOU ARE OUR SHOOTER! If you are even close to open, DO NOT HESITATE!"

How dumb are you when you pass up a good look to get it to a covered Jason Maxiel 16 ft from the hoop with the shot clock at 4 seconds? I question Gordon's basketball IQ but think he is a tremendous asset as a pure shooter. If he will just fill that specific role he could really help the Pistons.

I also notice that toward the end of games when it is really out of reach he starts behaving the way he should and shoots the damn ball.
