So this season is all about development of our systems on O and D, and the development of those four guys, and a top four pick in the 2012 draft. In a couple years, Knight seems to have the ability and aptitude to be a terrific point guard. Monroe is pretty clearly turning into a very fine big man, our first true back to the basket post up player in my memory and a heck of an all around player. That's hopeful to me. Perhaps Daye will come on and prove to be a core guy - if he does, I believe he'll be a 20 ppg scorer in this league. As the team gets more familiar with the new systems, and Stuckey gets back, maybe Daye will come along too. We'll see. Perhaps Singler will develop into a good player in Spain. If Frank can keep control of this, and I'm encouraged by what I know about him and his approach, these guys will turn into much better pros. By next season, I expect to see better play from this same group - and we should be adding a great young talent (hopefully a big man), who can have a better chance to flourish with a young squad who grew from what is going to be an incredibly rough 2011-12 season. |

My questions with him are whether he has the attitude and the ability to work hard enough to fulfil his potential. I've never liked his body language when things aren't going well for him. So, I've got questions about him short, mid and long term. But talent isn't the issue with him. He has great potential. |

I think talent is an issue with him. He just doesn't have the instincts.

Yechh - I hope not. Sellers was awful. But I do think Daye's a lot more talented than Sellers ever was. Daye developing into a great scorer and offensive player, (starter would be optimal of course, but right now I'd take it if he'd be a great bench player) would make rebuilding this club a lot easier. Since we seem to have really good coaches now, hopefully Daye will develop.

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | I'm with Mel. Last season, I saw reason for hope that he could at least be a very good scorer off the bench, but when you take away his scoring, he's pretty useless, and that's where we seem to be right now. Shooting slumps are understandable, but right now, he just looks like he doesn't give a crap, and that's unacceptable for any team. |

: 0 For This Post 3 Total | Ron (Detroit, MI ) Chad, can I get your thoughts on Pistons center Greg Monroe? The guy looks stellar, and an all-star as well. Chad Ford(1:18 PM) He's the one bright spot on an otherwise dim Pistons team at the moment. It's still very early, but hard to argue someone else besides Wall should've gone ahead of him in the Draft. Favors could eventually surpass him because he's a much better athlete. Paul George has a chance to be great. Evan Turner is playing MUCH better this year. But Monroe is special. Brandon Knight should be pretty good too down the road. It's not going to be pretty for a while, but the Pistons do have some nice pieces going forward. |

The question becomes, will we be able to have all of these 20+ ppg scorers co-exist. Note: I have yet to reveal until now how Alex Acker comes back as a 10 ppg, 12 assist, 3 steal point-guard off the bench. Sometime later I will post my thoughts on Cheick Samb.
