Default GAME THREAD 1/10 vs Dallas: More turnovers, and the Mavs have us for dessert

5 minutes in, Dallas leads 15-4.

The Pistons have attempted TWO SHOTS.

They have turned it over 7 times in the first 9 possessions.

Glad Knight's making his 3s. Should help keep his confidence up as he struggles in other phases.

Amazing we're only down 14 at the half. Dallas' starters basically only missed when they were dunking, we turned the ball over like 35 times in a row, and we were outrebounded by a pre-k kid sitting near the basket.

What is there to rebound when the other team shoots that well? It all works together...unlike the Pistons right now.

It doesn't necessarily tie together. We have only 2 offensive rebounds on our end as well.

Not all of them have been his fault, Our whole team has 9 assists and 14 turnovers.

%80 of our team can't create shoot or post up. Knight has nobody to pass to other than Gordon and Monroe, and both of those guys are swarmed on every play.

This team as currently constructed is a joke. They play hard, but they are too small, too nonathletic, and not skilled or fast enough to make up for all of their deficiencies.

Watching Dallas mercilessly post up Jonas and Gordon time and time again and score literally every time is sad. At least the Gordon problem is temporary until Stuckey gets back. Jonas is just awful defending the paint, and we have no other alternative.

Even if we're going to keep losing, this can't go on. We can't keep getting demolished like this every game. Monroe and Knight do not need this level of abuse.

A possible solution would be to start Maxiell at PF, move Jonas to SF and Tayshaun to SG. We'd still have issues scoring, but at least we wouldn't get manhandled in the post like little kids.

Well no kidding! That's why you have centers and PGs. Those are mostly their jobs. Knight's passing the ball within the offense but he's not really looking to set anybody up all that much.

Austin still can't shoot.

0-10 now from 3-point range on the season.

9-42 from the field overall.

there's not much he can do to force the issue. Every team we play packs in the paint. There is zero room to drive.

So...does anyone believe me now when I say that our roster has gotten worse every year after our championship? (Although the year after our record was better.)

Jerebko isn't a starter on a good team, 15 minute per game backup. He can't defend PFs or SFs. A piece but a small piece, overrated by the team and fans. Daye is trash.

Monroe and Knight are the young promising players here, with Stuckey.

This team is OK, just not having Stuckey is tough at the moment. He is the best PG and SG on the team at the moment (not half bad at SF either).

One has to hope that Daye gets it going at some point. The SF position is really a black hole at the moment.

Jonas I think can defend SF much better than PF. He still has issues following people off the ball, but at least he has a physical advantage.

That is where Daye could be a big help if he would step up. He should be able to play PF even though he is lighter than ever. He certainly can't be any worse in the paint than Jonas. However, if his shot isn't going in, I guess you might as well play Wallace or Macklin at PF.

Hopefully Daye comes back energized from both his injury and the doghouse.

Daye can't defend either spot. He's got Jonas's problems times 100 at both positions.

Signing Prince is looking like a bad mistake. His fg percentage is 36% this season and he is only averaging 3 rebounds per game.

They really need Tayshaun to step it up offensively too and he just isn't.....If he finishes the season with the numbers he has now he will have almost zero trade value after the season......

Yes. Mcgrady was the best we had at running the offense. He gone. Now that Rip is gone we have a midget backcourt (Stuckey is the only guard we have over 6'3"). Tay is a year older and not playing for a contract. Hell we even miss Wilcox because of how undersized our front court is. This roster is brutal.

I think it's going to take years to straighten out unfortunately. IF you added Lebron James to this team, they still probably don't make the playoffs.

That guy was interviewed by ESPN. Carter was on the other side of 2 fans...then there was Delonte West and the rest of the Mavs players.
