Tay has been amazing tonight. That's 3 straight where he has been quality.

Monroe has been very good too, but he's been limited by the early fouls.

3 quarters down and one to go.

And, we lost the lead. Williams looks like a tweener black hole.

We've made some real shit passes to Monroe lately.

Minny has shredded us in the 2nd half. For a while we were able to keep scoring with them.

Love also sets some of the best pics I've seen. He and Rubio are a deadly combination on the floor together. Normally, Brandon Knight is able to recover quickly enough after being screened to catch up to the point guard. But not tonight. Love's picks leave him no room, and when he uses the screen Rubio accelerates to top speed away from the area of the screen - there really is no chance for any guard to catch up. Teams are going to have to figure out how to slow Rubio coming off the screen without switching - because a small guard can never cover Love either on the long range shot or if he rolls to the basket.

Really impressive.

Wow - Jason Maxiell stinks. I really thought he was going to be a good player as of a few seasons ago. But the truth is he not only didn't improve, he became a lot worse. He has Kwame Brown's hands, and it sure doesn't look like he has any idea how to play the game.

Just horrendous play down the stretch again.

We cannot hope to win games when we've got guys like Jason Maxiell and Ben Wallace playing major roles. We also aren't going to develop as a team when we keep handing the ball to Tay Prince and ask him to be our primary scorer.

But, all in all, nice collapse loss. Ping pong ball city, baby!

I knew when the Pistons let the cold shooting wolves pull back to within 6 at the half that the pistons would screw this one up. As poorly as the wolves shot in the 1st half the Pistons should have been up 16 not 6! It looked like the twolves were giving away the game. These Pistons are playing like complete strangers out there. I've watched every game but I think I have to stop for a while as they just do not look like they have anything going right...it is too frustrating.

Love going for a turnover stat against Knight with .1 seconds left at midcourt was a real dickish play.

I love that guy as a player, but I'd love to see us get a couple enforcers and smash him around a bit.

Rubio, Love, D. Williams - that really is a tremendous core to build around. I like their role player assets on the bench. And JJ. Barrea can play. And yeah, Darko just doesn't have the heart for this league.

If the Wolves can stay sucky enough to land one of the good big men who can play center in this draft, they really could be on their way. Or maybe they can package one of their non-Rubio PG's in a package for a decent big man.

Having no camp hurt. Honestly, there aren't a lot of players on the roster that are capable of improving outside of Monroe and Knight.

I read somewhere where Stuckey is off to one of the slowest starts in his career.

On this team, without a consistent offensive flow and with long range shooters not knocking down long range shots, and with Maxiell and Ben Wallace playing meaning we are 4 on 5 (or even 3 on 5 once in awhile), Stuckey hasn't been playing like the answer at that position.

I'd like to see him play with a more mature Knight and Monroe and two other strong offensive threats, in an offense that executes well consistently. On the other hand, I'm not sure I wouldn't be disappointed after watching him with that type of seasoned talent.

This is depressing, actually.

Stuckey has been pretty good. His shot hasn't really been there, but the offense functions much better when he is in the game...and of course there are less turnovers and the D is much better.

They need to increase Stuckey's minutes...though maybe they are trying to ease him along giving his injury.

The hard thing about rebuilding through the draft in the NBA is everyone is 18-19 years old and is drafted on potential......ITs really hard to find many players who are NBA ready at that point.

Neither has anyone else. It is not that this is an untalented bunch of players, it is that they are making a ridiculous number of stupid plays. I have never been one to stop supporting my teams because they lose, but it is just so hard to watch good players play so bad. The Twolves are not a great team, and they played horribly in the first half...couldn't make a basket outside of 2 feet from the rim...and we could have put them away if we had just played smart. I don't know how many times this year I have watched the same opposing player who just made a three be left wide open the next time down the court for another three. To me that is poor coaching and poor basketball IQ.

On a side note (gripe), Jonas was getting knocked around, grabbed, held, and pushed a lot tonight and he rarely gets a call.

Besides the Karen years...the Pistons are a class organization...so even when they lose...they are still worth watching. This team is miles ahead of the Millen era Lions. I still don't watch the Lions....I don't care if they are good.

Williams hasn't looked like much. The T-Wolves' pick belongs to New Orleans (was property of the Clippers, but went in the Chris Paul trade).

"It's the same story," said Greg Monroe, who had 13 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out. "We have to find a way to win it down the stretch, and that's it.
"We can't keep playing well for 42 minutes and in the last 6 minutes you give the game away."

This is delusional. They did not play well for 42 minutes. Minnesota was very off their offensive game in the first half. They were getting wide open shots and missing them...and getting the offensive rebound and missing that. If the Pistons were playing well they would have had a 26 point lead going into half instead of a 6 point lead. The Pistons caught the Twolves on an off shooting night and failed miserably to take advantage.

We have role players who don't continue to play their roles.

Gordon should shoot! He is a great shooter who is reluctant to shoot. Instead he pump fakes and passes to Ben Wallace.

That game last night just really pissed me off as I could see what was coming as soon as they let Minnesota get back to within 6 at the half.

I've never seen a passer like him. And he gets after it defensively. He's got to become a much better scorer to become an all-time great. That might not happen unless he gets stronger.

Still, he's my favorite player to come into the league in years. I love watching him play.

I've watched every game this season and I would have to say that we are not better than any team we faced. A team is definitely more than the sum of its parts, as I don't think the Pistons are untalented. Chemistry, whether through luck or developed over time, is not at all present with this year's team. Taken as individual players, I would say that they are above average. Taken as a team...just plain awful.

The latest statements by Joe D seem to finally be saying that they have to be terrible to become good again, which translates to being so bad they get a high draft choice. He has already, it seems, given up on the season.

Good.

If we ever want to complete with the super-teams (maybe LeBron, Wade, Bosh will be on the way down in a few years when we could potentially be strong enough - but Okl. City and others will have two superstars or great players, at least - then we've got to get really lucky and draft at least one of them. Monroe might turn into a perennial all-star, so might Knight, but I say we need at least one mega-star. If we don't get one in the draft, it's not likely we'll ever get one, and then it would be highly likely that we'll never be a serious contender.

This isn't rocket science. We need to stink for awhile. I think we're well positioned to do exactly that.

yeah, he has unreal vision and passing abilities

but... I saw equally talented passers
Nash is like this, CP3, Rondo
of course all greats, I saw Magic's passes
and Stocton's and of course Zeke's

he also is tall, 6'4" for a point means he will have the length advantage over most of the guards
(and he seems to have very long arms, too, and knows how to use them)

and he likes to work hard, he really plays D

and all of this with unique grace
it's just beautiful how he moves on the court
they guy just have all the required charisma

but like I said above,
so far it is but lots of potential to be great

That is OK for Joe D to say. That is what everybody hear has been crying for...this route ain't pretty.

But in another year, the Pistons will have another lottery stud along with Stucky to build a young core with Prince being the moderately competent veteran. That ain't too shabby.

I'm all for playing the youngsters and taking our lumps. I'm not OK with the layup line we gave up in the 4th. Guys just started gambling and quit covering for each other.
