It's not the D (entirely at least). If you're going to take a long jumper, take a 3 pointer. Taking a shot a step inside the 3 point line is the absolute worst shot you can take statistically. Your chances of making it aren't great and you don't get the bonus point of a 3 pointer. It's a shot that should only be used in desperation at the end of the clock.
