The Wiz really shit the bed in the last draft, btw. The two they drafted might develop some day or they might not (I think it will mostly be not), but they are the same type of player and they're horrible right now.

Vesely is improving. He started out the season putrid. He keeps a bunch of balls alive, can finish. He's still bad but not like he was.

Tayshaun does not look like he feels like playing on the ball defense. He isn't stopping the ball at all. Yes, he's a good shot blocker, but he isn't Hakeem Olajuwon. He just keeps letting his guys get to their spots.

I think if McGee was on a more functional team then he'd be putting up real solid numbers. As is, he's not a smart player and the Wiz play so loose that it just leads into his worst impulses.

That sums it up pretty well. He would be a fantastic asset on a better team. He has a tendency to go-knucklehead a little too often for a poor team.

That said, he's not a bad guy and would look great next to Monroe. Blocking shots and finishing... things we could really use.

So, tied at the half. The Wiz are probably a team we don't need to try and run with. Let them go all wild and crazy and let us take our time. They'll make enough mistakes both offensively and defensively to swing things in our favor.

Our guards are shooting horrifically tonight. 4-21 amongst Knight, Stuckey, Gordon, and Russell.

I love Monroe's passes. 2 assists so far but it could have been easily 3-4.

Weird line for Wall - 0 for 1 shooting, no FT's, 6 assists to 4 turnovers, 4 rebounds.

Monroe is very skilled. The last few games I've watched, he's shown the ability to put it on the floor from the foul line and beat his man and finish. Someone said it last game, but it never seems like he's going to miss when he shoots - and he is a great passer. He's very close right now to getting past Dwight Howard in PER among Centers. He's still learning the game, and he's playing without the benefit of current all-stars or top players on the court with him.

It used to be that if our guards didn't shoot well, that we were pretty much doomed. Now with Monroe as a legitimate low post player, we have a lot better balance on O.
