We simply don't have the personnel to guard a power forward like Jamison. That's an issue that will have to be addressed this summer.

Correct US grammar is ``is''. Cleveland is a team. One thing. Correct UK grammar is ``are'', despite the subject of the sentence not being plural. The UK usage is always jarring to me when heard in the US, tho can make a case both ways if want to be super grammarian about it.

Just pointing it out (in a way that has nothing to do with a tee or a firefighting, and not in any tone of voice that might cause Kstat to scold me or praise the forum culture at Pacers Digest).

It took me a minute, but I figured out what you were saying. I've always disagreed with that bit of grammar. It sounds right saying are there instead of is to me. Cleveland is a city. The Cavs are a team. I'm not much of a grammarian though.

If I remember correctly, Irving really dominated Knight the first time they played this season. So far this game it is pretty even.

The defense was so much better in that second quarter. It helped that Jamison sat a lot, but he was less effective even when he got back in. Stuckey picked it up offensively in the quarter as well.

Knight's shot is falling so far.

This will be a "good" loss for us if we blow it. I really don't care what happens when we're playing Bynum, Gordon and Ben, Max and Wilkens. That lineup is not the future of this team.

Oh yeah, we lost this one. Irving went off in the second half. The momentum was totally changed when we put that shit lineup out there and we haven't been able to slow it since.

I'm sure Opie was trying to give some guys a rest, but that lineup should never be out there.

This loss - if we do lose, which looks likely right now - is on Tay. 2-15 is pathetic, and a lot of his shots were very makeable - if not wide open.

The Knight/Irving battle has been very fun to watch. These are going to be two of the best PG's in the league for a lot of years - a big time rivalry.

Hopefully Bynum has played his last game as a piston regular.

Upset we lost right now, but it's fine for the future. None of the guys on the court when we collapsed will be here next year (I hope). That was just a brutal lineup.

I'm not sure why Bynum is back in the rotation. I suppose we might be trying to sucker a team into thinking he's good enough to trade for.

Villanueva is a horrible contract, but Max and Bynum are dead weight we're carrying as well. We have one more year of their suckitude unless we find someone desperate enough to take one/both of them. Maybe a buyout of Bynum could be done. He has options overseas at the least.

Max can give us 15-20 good minutes and lots of energy
he does not really worry me eve though tonight he was useless.
Once we get a suitable big, Max's role will diminish

No, he shouldn't be a starter long-term, but we do not have a starting PF on the roster. Max has done a far better job than Ben or JJ at that spot.

I think Max has become a below-average PF in this system, which is about what he's paid. Of course, he's had stretches of competence before, so I suppose we should withhold judgement.

Bynum is definitely dead weight. Fortunately, the contract isn't very big.

I'm holding out hope that Frank can somehow make Villanueva valuable enough to trade instead of amnesty. I even have this small sliver of hope that he could become an contributing PF with Frank and almost worth his contract. I suppose it's only a slightly more realistic dream than the one with the supermodels.

Theoretically, CV could be a hell of an offensive player on our team. If you have Tay or JJ at SF, both of whom are threats in the paint (Tay driving on his own) and JJ cutting to the hole, with Stuckey, Knight and CV stretching the floor but also providing strong low post scoring - we could be dynamic at that end of the court. Of course, there's another end of the court which experts seem to think has an important role to play in games, and CV kindof blows in that area.

Hack, he is a talented offensive player - a true stretch PF, with a lot of skill as a scorer from anywhere on the court. I'm not a fan, and I don't expect him to be a long term fit on our team - unless he develops into a sixth man type guy, playing off the bench behind a true monster PF. As for defending and rebounding - well, that's what has been established as stuff he doesn't do well, and that's why I'd rather we never signed him.

I guess my fading hope is that he'll play well enough for us to trade him for a role player who fits our needs.

The Pistons will be better off without this guy. Preferably, I would rather not see him playing in a Pistons uniform again. Just get rid of him. There's no other current player I'd rather see an ex-Piston than Charlie V.

What you hope for is that he could turn into a Cliff Robinson type player, but Robinson played great defense at times and was a consistant scorer and took better shots. CV needs to hit the weights and get tougher. After 6 years (this is his 7th), that likely isn't going to happen. Really, he has his big contract...what would drive him to get better at this point? If he gets amnestied, he still gets paid.

Basically the opposite of Cliffy. Robinson was brought in here to do what Tay is supposedly doing now -- be the professional that showed the young guys the way. He played great defense at all times. He wore down by the playoffs and had nothing then, but IIRC he had yet to play on a lottery team until we traded him to GS? Anyways, there's a better shot at lightning striking twice in the same day as we all win the lottery as there is of CV turning into anything resembling Uncle Cliffy.
