Flip's problem is he took over a team that was pretty much uncoachable and then became tapped-out. Injuries killed us in at least two of those years - Sheed's ankle the year Miami won, and Chauncey hammy against Boston last year. This year's team could have been coached by Chuck Daly with Phil Jackson and Red Auerbach as his assistants, and it was going NOWHERE. Players matter in this league, and let's face it, we didn't have them and every year since 2005 the roster has gotten older, less coachable and worse. |
