| Water Boy | Leagues are up, we might as well get our dates straight and decide early if we want a roto league this year(they also added an auction system this year). Last edited by Lou Stefanic; 09-04-2010 at 08:40 PM. |

I seem to recall some issue with that last year, not that I don't think Money and KM haven't done great jobs in the past. Either way, whatever. What the hell is the auction function? |

| Water Boy | You get a fixed amount ( of money ) and then everyone bids on the players thay want. The biggest problem with this is that most people spend ALL of there money on 4 or 5 of the best players that they can get. Then they have no money left BUT, the computer lets everyone fill out there roster at the end of the draft for $ 1 or $ 2 each on the rest of there roster.... Ive done 2 football auction drafts and if you decide to blow your wad on Chris Johnson, MJD or AP then you have less money to fill out your roster It's a much better system, eveyone has the same shot at all of the top players you can go top heavy or fill your roster with 4th round talent... it's up to you There are no timeouts because you are always bidding, and there are risks if u try to run up the bidding on a player you dont want. It's also very stupid to let a guy get a quality player for a small price tag, so sometimes its best to bid up. It requires more thinking but it's the truest test of who is the best GM. I honestly believe that 3-4 years from now auctions will have permanently replaced snake drafts. If we do it once, we will never go back. in a $30 league it's definitely worth doing, if you're skeptical then try doing a mock | |

| Sixth Man | Sounds perfect. daily changes with 4 or 5 max per slot? Remember, you can still schedule all of your daily changes once per week if you wish. Last edited by whoDean; 08-28-2010 at 01:44 PM. |

| Water Boy | 3 or 4 seems a bit excessive to me . I would think 2 or 3 per possition would suffice. |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | The objection to daily moves has mainly been that it allows crappy teams to beat great teams by streaming players and playing an extra 5-10 games a week. The solution to that would appear to be adding a couple of bench spots so that every team has enough bench players to ensure they can fill their starting roster most days, and thinning the waiver pool to players even bad teams won't want to pick up and play. There's also the complaint that people don't want to have to look at their fantasy team evey day, but like Who said, you can set every spot for the week at once if you want. Although I don't know why anyone who thinks looking at their team once a day is too much of a commitment would want to be in a fantasy league anyway. |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | I'd prefer a weekly limit cap at like 40-45 games or something close, with daily roster substitutes allowed. That way you can sub for injured players without having to sacrifice those games for the week. This has always been the biggest reason why we all wanted the daily changes in the first place. Now, who is in for a roto league? We need at least 10 |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | I'm not sure what you mean. You can't set a limit on how many games are played at a particular position. You can limit how many players are added in a week, to try and keep people from mass dumping and adding players each day in order to always field 10 guys. But there's no way to set it so a there is a cap on how many players a team can field in a week, other than the natural cap of 70. The problem is that good teams can't mass drop guys because they actually have good players on their bench, and bad teams do not so they have no problem dumping their bottom 5-6 guys in order to pad their games played every week. Getting stuck with an injured guy taking up a starting spot is a problem too, but it's the lesser of two evils. |

H2H will be filled regardless. League ID: 10835 Custom League URL: http://basketball.fantasysports.yaho...gue/palaceroto password: pistons Draft time: Wed, October 20th at 8:30pm. Let's get 10 people in. Buy in 25-30? Second place returns investment, 1st the rest? |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | Well, at first glance I thought that Lou created the roto league, so I went ahead and made a H2H league. I didn't notice it was Sam until later. But I don't want to step on Lou's toes, so if he wants to do it that's fine with me. If not then I will commish. I just wanted to make sure there's a H2H league because I dislike roto. |
