: 0 For This Post 1 Total | After some 90-95 degree days out here, the last two days have been perfect. Right in the 70's and clear skies. I got a little time out in the park earlier today and had fun, even though I stepped on a snake that had me running for the hills for a moment. I'm not sure what kind it was but it was about 3 feet long and greyish/black. I'm hoping my latest audition turns into a job. It would be 6 grand if I book it. Please send some good juju my way, people!

: 0 For This Post 1 Total | I have another audition tomorrow. This one is for a feature film (low budget but still $$$) and it will be shooting in Bloomington sometime in July. This would be awesome on many levels. I'd be getting paid to do something I love. I'd be building on my experience as an actor. It could lead to future opportunities. I'd not be in the Texas heat in July. I was in Bloomington when I was a kid and I recall liking it. I'd be sure to make a visit to Ann Arbor before/after/both before and after the shoot. That's a lot to gain from it so I hope I rock it tomorrow. It may be a longshot as I am reading for a character that is supposed to be 22-24 years old and I'm well into my 30's but my agent told me not to worry and that she thought the director wasn't completely sold on the character having to be that age. She also said there are other roles that might be available so this is at least good to be seen by this casting agent. I'm also training tonight at a new bartending gig. I have to say, things had been really rough out here in Austin but I'm starting to make some stuff happen and other opportunities are popping up. Cool!

: 0 For This Post 1 Total | The audition went well but i do have to say I'm pretty sure I was the oldest guy there by several years. There were some legit 22 year old dudes reading for the part. It's been a while since I've had a movie audition so that was a victory in and of itself, plus I was pleased with how I did.

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | well? how did the audition go, JD...and did you get a call back, Medzie? I am actually thinking of doing the Detroit 1/2 marathon in October. I am scared shitless...I so don't want to do it but I am being heavily pressured from my friends. So I started running this week only 2 miles. I'm following Hal Higdon's novice 1 program. If anyone has done this and would like to offer tips, I'd be more than happy to listen. |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | That sounds intense. You shouldn't be pressured into running a marathon though. That takes a huge commitment, and you should only do it if you're 100% invested. I was offered the job, but the money wasn't right so I had to turn it down. I'm not really interested in lateral moves at this point of my career, so the search goes on! |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | I agree, Medzie. I hate peer pressure but everyone started calling me a punk and that I have commitment issues. A friend of ours is even a doctor and he said he's taking time off his very, very busy schedule to train so if he can...then I should. lol I told them I will give them an answer end of the month. Still freaks me out. That's too bad about the money but I know you will find something better. You're so smart! I have no doubt in my mind I will see you in the papers...or at least, I saw you on TV moving and shaking with some heavy hitters.. :) |

: 0 For This Post 1 Total | Hey- The audition went well but, as I said, I was reading for a guy that was supposed to be 22-24 years old. I haven't heard anything so I assume I am out of the running(also no go on the Whataburger commercial). There will be other opportunities around the corner I'm sure so I'll be ready for them. Any audition is a good one, I figure(so long as I don't suck). The local casting people will get to know me and I them and I get to become better at what I do. Since I most likely didn't book this I am still available to be in Money's movie! What's the story, moneyman? Did you look into making it SAG deferred? I'm ready, baby! :-) I also really want to find an excuse to come up to MI this summer. It looks like my sister and her kids will be visiting during Art Fair and I haven't seen them in over a year. I went to Vancouver right after my nephew was born and now he's 14 months old. He's a whole different person! If I do make it up there, don't look for me to go jogging with you, Esther. Drinks afterwards, sure, but I don't get into running like I used to. :-) It's just too hard on my knees. Good luck with that half-marathon, if you end up doing it.

I try to stay clear away from the city at that time. As for my marathon, I am very close to just doing it. I figure it's something I can write off on my need to do once in my lifetime list and I think it would help me mentally stay focused and disciplined. As it happens I am sending my resume to all the directions of where the wind blows which leads me to only temporary fixes. It would actually be a nice change up to build a long term goal or goals. |

: 0 For This Post 1 Total | Well, my sister may not be coming out for Art Fair. She (and her family) may be buying a new house in Vancouver which would alter her plans. If that's the case, I may alter mine. I still like Art Fair even though I'm usually not that impressed by the "art". I just enjoy when the streets are alive. It's kind of strange because I don't really like huge crowds if I'm in a club or something but I do outdoors. I always enjoyed going to New York(my mom grew up there and both my grandparents and sister lived there for long periods so I've been there about 15 times) just because everything was abuzz so I thought it was cool when I was a kid and Ann Arbor got like NY. If I don't come out then, I'll probably shoot for September and try and time it for when there's a Michigan game and maybe a Tiger game. We'll see. So, you mentioned staying clear of the city. Do you live in A2 or just near it? Also, where are you sending your resume? Austin? Austin has a marathon! Damn, I'm smooth.....
