Hey Medz, one last question on the auction, When bidding on a player starts, can you pass on the bid first then bid on that same player later?

For example: You start off with Chad Henne for $1, then King bids $5, the bid comes to me and I pass, then Whodean bids $20, Small bids $30, then does the bidding come back to me in case I change my mind? I decide I want Henne and bid $31. Is that possible? or am I out after my first pass?

Bidding doesn't go by turns, you can bid whenever you want. In that scenario, you can wait until the bidding gets to $25 and then start bidding. Each time a person bids the countdown resets, so you're always going to get a chance to bid as long as there's time on the clock, but once you bid it resets to 10 seconds and then someone else can jump in and put in a bid (until the timer runs out without another bid).

I'm back,

You guys know I love fantasy football and I'm pretty good with auctions too.

I joined the league, I know I haven't been around, Pistons talk doesn't do much for me, but I'll be a solid fantasy owner.

Medz, I sent you $30 US via paypal.

- Arty

Medz,

Arty's signed up, league is at 10 GM's, which means were good to go, but 12 is ideal

Great, welcome to the league Arty.

We're going first come first serve for those last two spots. One week left, whoever signs up first gets in. If we don't have 12 by Sunday morning, I'm locking it at 10.

We are still waiting (possibly) on modabombrocks, Maestro's brother, and Small's friend Joe.

If those guys are still interested, they should sign in ASAP. Otherwise we'll have to find other people to fill the last two slots.

If no one else has any problems with Arty's guys joining, it's cool with me.

Let's give it until tomorrow for people to weigh in, though. If everyone is fine with it, you can go ahead and have them join.

That was a fun draft. LONG, but fun. I'm pretty happy that I pulled Peyton, MJD, Chris Johnson, and Ray Rice out of my first four picks.

King gets KNOWSHAWN MORENO and DUSTIN KELLER

JAD gets JOSEPH ADDAI, ROB GRONKOWSKI and MICHAEL CRABTREE

...

I think Knowshawn is the best player, so that is why I make the deal. John Fox should run a lot in Denver. Ya, Willis will steal some TD, but I think Knowshawn will put up numbers. He's healthy and young. I moved Gronkowski because I have too many Pats in Brady, Welker and Green-Ellis already.

Overall, good deal for both. I just feel much better going from Addai to Moreno in terms of what I feel is possible breakout potential.

The only time team record comes into play is if both teams blindly bid the same amount - at that point, the team with the lower record will get priority.

The minimum bid for a waiver guy is $1, and Free Agent pickups after waivers clear are still free.
The thing I was mad about is giving a guy a player just because I scored more points in my win is BS. It says the one with the worst record not fewest points anyways. That rule should be changed. I was not out bid on Carnell Williams.

Therefore, there should be a 2nd bidding. screw that record crap....BAD RULE!

Yahoo doesn't give the option for 2nd bidding. This is the only way to have a tie-breaker in the free agent auction bidding format. I clearly pointed out that record decides a tie-breaker before the season and no one objected, so I can't do anything now.

Yeah you were, you basically bid $14.99 by not taking into account that there are 10 guys below you who will get the player by making a matching bid

King put it best, next time bid $16.

This is not even debatable, no one colluded or broke any rules

here's a related question, if you & I finish tied for 6th place but you have 20 more points than me are you going to complain that I should be in the playoffs instead of you? or we should bid on it? Maybe flip a coin?

The only reason I can think of is that Yahoo may have released the unclaimed players to Free Agency before waivers ran. Did anyone try putting in a waiver claim for Kendall Hunter or Billy Cundiff before those pick ups were made?
