: 0 For This Post 0 Total | My thoughts on some random movies I've seen the last couple weeks or so... Tropic Thunder-average at best, has some funny moments but it wasn't anything special Pineapple Express-decent, had its moments. The Bank Job-I liked this movie more as I got farther into it. Solid flick. The Greatest Game Ever Played- I thought it was good. Typical Disney type of underdog story. Star Trek- Excellent. Lots of fun. Forgetting Sarah Marshall-Very funny. Can't see how you can't like this movie. Harold and Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay-Pretty funny. Had some gross aspects and was silly but overall I thought it was funny. Good movie to see with buddies. Anyone else, not so much. Saw Iron Man again-Very good. Robert Downey Jr rocks. |

The Greatest Game Ever Played is the story of a working class kid who has aspirations of playing golf...starring Shia LeBeouf. Both are based on true stories. Just saw "Step Brothers." I thought it was fairly poor. I didn't like Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in Talladaega Nights either.

They dropped WAY too many F-bombs as well. So many that it took away from the movie. I am a strong believer in the strategically placed F-bomb. |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | Step Brothers was hilarious! The sleepwalking scene alone is worth the price of admission. I finally saw Slumdog Millionaire and The Wrestler this week. Both were pretty damn good, no revelation there. Gotta hand it to a dude who does steroids for a role (and don't tell me he didn't). |

Both were great, but I think Slumdog is one of the best movies I have seen. It's a top 10 in my book. I didn't like The Wrestler ending at first, but when I thought about it I thought it was perfect. It was real. No sappy Hollywood ending. |

As for Land of the Lost...it isn't a great movie by any stretch, but it's just effing weird and racy enough to be different than Semi-Pro or Blades of Glory (my least favorite of his "blockbuster" films). Danny McBride is hilarious. I like the idea of taking a bizarre TV show from back in the day and just dropping Will Ferrell and McBride in the middle of it. The strangeness appeals to me.

When he connects (Old School, Talladega, Anchorman) it's a home run, when he misses (Be-witched, Land of the Lost, Elf, Blades of whatever), it's a swing and a miss. Money, I know you weren't bad-mouthing Ace Ventura were you? |

Some other comedies I like: Office Space, Wedding Crashers, Meet the Parents, Home Alone, Superbad, Old School, 40yr old virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Liar Liar... I'm sure there's other stuff from the 80s and before but I haven't seen those yet. |

I also liked Fast Times. Kind of like the American Pie of the early 80s? I've heard of most of the movies you mentioned but haven't seen them yet. I'll check those out... |

I could only go 45 mins because I had to wake up early, but I plan on finsihing it tonight. Very good story and acting about the Nazi's organizing the counterfieters in concentration camps to flood British and American economies with fake money. The lead actor is very good and a badass. |

: 0 For This Post 0 Total | That's exactly the same way I thought, Whiteman. I rented Grandma's Boy on a whim after not seeing anything else that looked interesting. I never had any intention of watching Hot Rod until I heard a few people say how funny it was. I put off watching Walk Hard and Stepbrothers the same way. Both are now classics in my mind. |
